It didn't seem like much of a big deal, but it turns out this was just a preview of what we can expect within the next couple of months!
Just a few weeks ago, Pokemon gave out Heracross on X and Pinsir on Y in the US. All you had to do was connect to the internet with the Mystery Gift feature and your Heracross or Pinsir would be waiting for you! Not shiny or legendary or anything like that, just regular Pokemon. They were in their special event ball and were set to level 50, being labeled "ready to battle"! Of course with my luck, I got one with not-so-great IVs, but one of our friends on PokeCommunity was gracious enough to just give me a 5IV Friend ball Heracross! To go with my awesome new Heracross, GameStop invited all US fans to go to a store near them and pick up a little brochure-type card with a scratch-off code to get Heracronite/Pinsirite to go with their new buddy! It didn't seem like much of a big deal, but it turns out this was just a preview of what we can expect within the next couple of months! Just the other day, on September 8th, Pokemon announced "A Pokemon Autumn to Remember!" on their website. What's so memorable? Participating GameStops will be giving away Shiny Gengars holding their Gengarite from Oct. 13 - Oct. 26, available for X and Y. They also ask us to return to GameStop between Oct. 27 and Nov. 16 to pick up our Diancie holding her Diancite! Although you will not be able to use the code in X and Y, it's only a short wait until November 21st, when you can use your Diancie code in the upcoming Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire! I am personally so, so pumped for this. Although this will definitely make the value of Diancie plummet for a while, it doesn't matter to me, I just can't wait to play in Amie and do some battling with Diancie. And of course, I'm excited to see her mega evolution in action. We've seen a fair share of kawaii megas, especially with the recent reveal of Mega Audino, but Diancie seems to be so much more than just cute or kawaii. Mega Diancie is elegant, ethereal, and dainty. Her lore reminds me of Mew and Mewtwo, but her design is so much more appealing!
