It didn't seem like much of a big deal, but it turns out this was just a preview of what we can expect within the next couple of months!
Just a few weeks ago, Pokemon gave out Heracross on X and Pinsir on Y in the US. All you had to do was connect to the internet with the Mystery Gift feature and your Heracross or Pinsir would be waiting for you! Not shiny or legendary or anything like that, just regular Pokemon. They were in their special event ball and were set to level 50, being labeled "ready to battle"! Of course with my luck, I got one with not-so-great IVs, but one of our friends on PokeCommunity was gracious enough to just give me a 5IV Friend ball Heracross! To go with my awesome new Heracross, GameStop invited all US fans to go to a store near them and pick up a little brochure-type card with a scratch-off code to get Heracronite/Pinsirite to go with their new buddy!

Just about a week ago, on August 29th, Nintendo Japan announced on Nintendo Direct that they'd be releasing a, get this, "new" 3DS, and of course an XL version to go with it. It is set to release in Japan on October 11th of this year, and rumor has it that it'll be out overseas by 2015. Complete with an added C-stick that seems way too tiny to do anything, extra shoulder buttons dubbed ZR and ZL, Amiibo compatibility, improved 3D, speedier internet, customizable homescreen themes, and interchangable faceplates, you'd think this thing was set up for success. Buuut criticism from the Nintendo fan community says otherwise. Will this upgraded 3DS succeed or flop entirely?
Hey guys, what's up? The 4th installment of the Smash Bros series for the 3DS already hit the shelves in Japan in August. But don't worry, we'll be getting it soon enough! Smash Bros for the 3DS is coming out in the US on October 3rd, 2014! With school starting up, this is just the kind of thing I want look forward to. While we do not yet know the launch date for SSB for the Wii U, the official website says it'll be just in time for the holiday season! We've got plenty of new characters, as well. Newcomers include Shulk from Xenoblade, Robin from Fire Emblem, Pac-man, Palutena from Kid Icarus, Greninja from Pokemon, Little Mac from Punch-Out!!, Rosalina & Luma, Villager from the Animal Crossing Series, Mega Man, and the Wii Fit Trainer. Of course, there's one last newcomer we can't forget, the Mii Fighters, which are customizable and have 3 classes, Swordsman, Brawler, and Gunner. But, they aren't the only customizable characters! Read below for the other notably customizable character!
