summer is here, it's lovely, i'm very happy to have completed junior year. i will be taking a college art course this summer and i look forward to it. i think i'll have time to work on my recreational art more this summer, which points towards the possibility of me doing occasional art streams again. here's some of my most recent art!
hello! it's been quite a while. i don't think i've posted at all during 2017. i think it's important that i do, because i always love to look back at this blog and see my thoughts from past years. i've had this website since 2011, and it holds a lot of emotional and nostalgic value for me. i'm also very curious if anyone still reads this blog, i'm sure someone must. i want to write a short summary of my junior year of highschool!
first and foremost, i have a boyfriend i love very much. i also have three friends who are very close to my heart. i still talk to cutesu (hope you're reading this!) and she's still very important to me. i lost a lot of friends from school, i think. but i guess that's ok, i have people who matter. my friends and i met some nice people on league too, i'll do my best to keep talking to them in the future! i talk to my friends' friends as well, especially my boyfriend's friends. they're all lovely.
actually, to be honest, i cry a lot. i've been kinda miserable. the good outweighs the bad, but everything is difficult. i don't feel anymore prepared to deal with life than i did when i made this website. maybe i've grown a little though? i'm not completely sure how, but i definitely didn't learn how to deal with anything.
one of my birds, makiko, died this year. it was extremely sad, and i mourned for a long time. my other bird, kabuki, is still alive! we got her a friend, we named her yukiko.
i've been working on art a lot. digital art is so much fun for me, but i've been doing a lot of traditional, for my college portfolio. after pouring so much energy into it, i'm not even sure if i want to do art for a living anymore. i love it but it seems very difficult and i don't know if i'm good enough. and it sure sounds nice to be a teacher and have the summers off.
my school got a new principal, nobody likes him very much. he even used to work at my friends' school for like 2 weeks. the last principal was the founder of the school, so it was sad to see him go. he really didn't need to.
there's a lot more i could say but i think i'll stop here for now. 11th grade isn't over yet, and i'm sure the summer will be lots of fun. see you all soon, bye! ;D
Just finished a drawing of Filia from the game Skullgirls! I worked for 2 days, over a period of about 4 hours on it. The primary parts of it that were challenging were Samson's mouth (that's the teeth on her head), and deciding on a background. I often have trouble with hands, and with making a character looks like they're really sitting when they're sitting, but both of those actually came surprisingly easily. Below the Read More, I'll be talking about how poses work and how to make full-body drawing look fluid and not awkward.
Regular new year has happened too since my last blog post, but whatever. I'll post a small collection of portrait's I've done recently. I'd also like to take some time to contemplate how art is perceived, and will do so under the cut!
ME I DIDDD! I've also decided to move my livestream from my own website here to Picarto again. So now, the livestream link leads you offsite. I'll probably upload all my good livestreams as speedpaints on youtube now too! Here's my first one.
I've submitted an entry to the Steven universe contest on WeLoveFine! Please vote for my design!

Hey guys! So, I usually host my livestreams on picarto.tv. But, very recently, picarto has updated their video player, and no longer allows embedding. What this means is that I had to switch stream services. I am now using Ustream. Although I initially encountered some problems, everything worked out, and from now on, this is what I will be using! Viewing my stream will go the same as always, just click on my livestream page! Bye! ;D
I just completed a very large piece that I've been working on for the past few days! Here it is. Transparent version and star brush under the Read More!
I've added a new page entirely for free brushes! If you hover over the Art and Comics page in the menu, there is a sub-page called Brushes, where you can download brushes that I've made! There is also a tutorial on how to use them, if you've never downloaded brushes before. I hope you all make use of it, let me know what you think!
